Job description

A well-versed, fully staffed leadership team, consisting of a Principal, School Counselor, Instructional Coach, Intervention Team, School Nurse, and Admissions Director. Our teaching staff consists of full-time classroom teachers, aides, and teachers for Art, Music, PE, and Spanish.

Teaching:

  • Teach one section of 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade Math, including Algebra I. Perform additional teacher duties such as study hall, recess/lunch duty, and other subject areas as needed.
  • Plan and implement a well-rounded educational program that supports Indiana State Academic Standards, includes play and experiential activities, and evolves from a Christian (LCMS) religious foundation.
  • Promote and supervise activities that enhance each child's emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development.
  • Provide and maintain a safe, neat, and organized classroom.
  • Supervise all activities to ensure each child's safety.
  • Maintain cooperative relationships with other school and church staff and facilitate cooperation in church and school activities.
  • Utilize training available through other institutions for continued growth and professional development – workshops, classes, webinars, etc.
  • Participate in individual staff conferences regularly.
  • Maintain the school's overall goals and objectives.
  • Attend staff meetings & professional developments
  • Notify the administration in the event of absence so that a substitute teacher can be arranged.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
  • Participate in school and church activities outside of regular school hours.

Administrative:

  • Keep the principal informed of classroom goals and extra-curricular activities.
  • Report any accidents, injuries, or incidents to the Administration and parents in a timely manner. Prepare documentation required.
  • Keep attendance records, academic files, and progress reports up to date.
  • Make contact with incoming families at least one month before the start of the new school year.
  • Complete trainings required by the State of Indiana.
