Job description

The Fall Concession Stand Manager oversees the operational, logistical, and safety aspects of the school's concession stands during the fall athletic season. This role ensures that food, snacks, and beverages are fully stocked and available for all home athletic events, including Football, Volleyball, and Cross Country meets. The Manager works closely with the Activities Director to coordinate student club volunteers, manage inventory and maintain a welcoming standard for fans and visiting teams.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Event Management

  • Organize and run concession stand operations for all scheduled home games and meets for Football, Volleyball, and Cross Country.
  • Ensure facilities are opened, prepped, and fully operational at least 30 minutes prior to game start times.
  • Manage post-game shutdown, including thorough equipment cleaning, trash removal, and secure lock-up of facilities.

Volunteer & Club Coordination

  • Partner directly with the Activities Director to schedule student clubs, athletic teams, and volunteers for each home event.
  • Serve as the main point of contact on event days, providing quick training and direction to students/volunteers on food prep, register operations, and health practices.
  • Maintain a professional, encouraging, and organized environment for all volunteer crews.

Food Safety, Sanitation & Licensing

  • Ensure strict adherence to all local, state, and school district food safety standards and regulations.
  • Maintain an active Food Handler's License (required).
  • Train temporary staff and student volunteers on basic food handling, hygiene, glove use, and proper holding temperatures for hot/cold items.

Inventory, Purchasing & Cash Handling

  • Monitor inventory levels weekly and place timely orders or purchase runs for food, beverages, paper goods, and sanitation supplies.
  • Receive, inspect, and organize incoming deliveries to ensure proper storage and rotation (FIFO method).
  • Manage cash drawers: Reconcile sales after each event, track daily receipts, and prepare cash drops in accordance with school financial procedures.
