Job description

INVENTORY SPECIALIST (STARLINK)
The Inventory Specialist position supports the Starlink factory. As Starlink continues to grow, we are expanding our inventory operation specifically for Starlink satellites. This role is responsible for completing put-aways for inbound material, picking products for production, filling the lineside build locations with materials, putting finished goods into inventory, picking finished goods for customer orders, and ensuring inventory accuracy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Receive, store, and issue raw materials, parts, details, and hardware to support shop operations
  • Organize and store parts and materials in bins, drawers, and racks, clearly identifying parts and storage locations
  • Adhere to strict material handling practices and procedures
  • Perform picking and kitting functions to assemble required kits of parts, materials, and hardware, ensuring all items are available and accounted for
  • Inspect incoming materials for conformance to accompanying paperwork, verifying condition, part numbers, quantities, and revisions
  • Issue materials per approved documentation, including applying verification and traceability markings to serialized parts; validate lot traceability
  • Comply with all procedures, desk instructions, and standard operating documents
  • Monitor shelf-life items and maintain proper stock rotation (FIFO)
  • Support organizational metrics, goals, and objectives
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in the work area
  • Conduct cycle counts

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of inventory control experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • 3+ years of inventory control experience in a warehouse
  • Experience and understanding of inventory and kitting processes
  • Experience operate a forklift and other related inventory equipment
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronic fields
  • ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics or supply chain management

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be available for the following shifts:
    • 1st Shift: Monday to Friday (5:30 AM - 3:30 PM) and a rotating Saturday
    • 2nd Shift: Monday to Friday (3:00 PM - 1:00 AM) and a rotating Saturday
  • Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted
  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • Must be willing to work in an open-aired environment, lacking temperature controls

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Inventory Specialist/Level 1: $22.00 - $25.00/hour
Inventory Specialist/Level 2: $24.50 - $29.00/hour
Inventory Specialist/Level 3: $27.00 - $34.50/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You will also receive access to comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, access to a 401(k) retirement plan, short and long-term disability insurance, life insurance, paid parental leave, and various other discounts and perks. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees in Washington State accrue paid sick time in compliance with state and federal law. Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday.
