1st Shift - PRN
The Food and Nutrition Services team prepares and serves nutritious, high-quality meals for patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining food safety and sanitation standards. Responsibilities include food preparation for cafeteria, catering, and patient services, following approved recipes and portion guidelines, ensuring proper food handling and inventory rotation (FIFO), operating kitchen equipment, maintaining food quality and presentation, and supporting team operations as needed. The Cook I role focuses on developing skills in safe, efficient food production and providing support across Food Service operations.
  • Food Preparation & Service: Prepares and serves meals using approved recipes, proper cooking techniques, and food production standards. Maintains stocked service areas and supports waste reduction through accurate portioning and batch cooking.
  • Food Safety & Equipment Operation: Follows HACCP and food safety guidelines, monitors food temperatures, ensures proper storage and rotation of inventory, and safely operates kitchen equipment.
  • Recipe Compliance: Accurately follows standardized recipes, including measurements, preparation methods, and presentation standards.
  • Customer Service: Provides friendly, professional service in customer-facing areas and communicates menu offerings in a positive and engaging manner.

Essential Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required; or 1 - 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred: Culinary Degree, Serve safe Food Handlers certificate or local Health Department license
