Job description

Metro Services is seeking to immediately fill Crane Operator positions for a Manufacturing company in Belleville, MI. This is a Temp-to-Hire job. Apply now!

Duties for this position include:

• Safely operate an overhead traveling crane to lift, move, and position dies, steel, raw materials, and production equipment throughout the facility
• Perform daily crane inspections and complete required safety checklists before operating equipment
• Deliver dies and steel to production machines in a timely manner to prevent downtime
• Unload incoming steel deliveries and prepare dies for storage or transport to and from the Tool Room
• Maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices for raw materials
• Keep die storage, coil storage, and material staging areas clean, organized, and properly labeled
• Follow all MIOSHA standards, crane safety procedures, and required PPE guidelines while operating equipment
• Communicate effectively with production personnel to coordinate material movement and support manufacturing operations
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned

Compensation (USD):

$21.25/hour

Schedule:

2nd Shift
Monday – Friday
2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

3rd Shift 
Monday – Friday
10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Previous crane, material handling, manufacturing, or warehouse experience preferred
• Ability to obtain company crane and forklift certifications
• Strong understanding of crane safety procedures and safe load handling practices
• Ability to read and understand IATF 16949, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 14001 procedures
• Basic mathematical skills, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and measurements
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to lift, stand, walk, and work in an industrial manufacturing environment throughout the shift
• Ability to work overtime and any assigned shift as needed
