Position Description
Goodfellow Bros. (GBI) is a large heavy-civil contractor with operations throughout the West Coast & Hawaii. GBI has always maintained that our employees are our greatest asset, and we are now seeking to add to our team. We are looking for a Field Service Assistant to join our team in Portland, OR.
Position Summary
The Field Service Assistant is responsible for delivering small equipment and materials to Oregon region job sites. The Field Service Assistant will also maintain and update an inventory of construction materials, small tools, and various equipment items in the region. This position will help with management and upkeep of our small tools fleet. This position also assists in maintaining shop operation facilities.

We offer full-time hourly non-exempt employees and their families, medical, dental and vision coverage, plus wellness incentives and limited paid sick leave, if eligible.
Pay Rate: $24-$30/hr
Essential Functions
  • Assist in coordinating all equipment mobilization.
  • Tracks and manages small tools and inventory equipment.
  • Assist with tracking and distribution of equipment parts.
  • DMV support as needed for registration of company vehicles.
  • Assists in Performing administrative tasks, requiring use of administrative skills and independent judgement.
  • Receives deliveries, e.g., materials and/or supplies and distributes to proper parties.
  • Assist master mechanic with daily tasks/requests.
  • Drive company vehicles, including but not limited to F-150 pick-up and larger trucks, for long distances and/or multiple hours in a safe manner.
  • Abide by all traffic rules and regulations while driving in a safe and cautious manner.
  • Must be able to hitch trailer to truck when transporting equipment and supplies.
  • Operate forklift to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials.
  • Assists in upkeep of Shop and Yard facilities.
  • Performs some repairs and preventive maintenance to small tools and hand tools.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
Required Education, Experience, and Technical Knowledge
  • Candidates must have the legal right to work in the US without employer sponsorship.
  • High School Graduate or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with a general civil construction company preferred.
  • Must have computer experience.
  • Valid Driver's License with clean driver's abstract.
