Reporting directly to the National Service Manager, we are currently seeking a Remote - Field Service Technician for our Central Region and based in Dallas, Texas.

Job Description

Job Title: Field Service Technician


Core Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Technical Field Service function:

Installation, repair, and testing of field equipment, in accordance with customer's or manufacturer's

specifications and company procedures.

Diagnose and repair electrical/mechanical/controls equipment malfunctions and warranty repairs. Use a variety

of diagnostic tools to identify problems, and implement necessary repairs including replacing faulty

components, repairing wiring, and troubleshooting software issues.

Perform assembly/modifications and overall quality defect resolution on all IE products and equipment. Driven

to resolve all QA/QC issues with full circle resolution with IE plants, PMs, Engineers, and Quality teams.

May occasionally travel to support areas throughout the country and possibly overseas.

Completion of receiving Inspections with internal Regional Managers, subcontractors, and customers to protect

IE from unjustified warranty claims.

Assess Warranty claims and works Regional Manger to understand the validity of such claims with regards to

codes, specifications, and requirements.

Performs preventative maintenance programs for an assortment of electrical/mechanical equipment to ensure

optimal performance and prevent downtime as well as generating new revenue streams for field service team.

Ensures adherence to document processes for all work performed, including the nature of the problem, the

steps taken to resolve the problem, and the parts used in order to create professional service reports.

Response to client calls, emails and texts is a critical priority and should be responded to without hesitation.

Maintain, inspect, and care for IE tools, equipment, and vehicles, - tool inventory completed monthly, vehicle

inspection bi-weekly and monthly expense reports all due to the RSM on time.

Adheres to all safety regulations and procedures onsite. This includes wearing personal protective equipment

when onsite, following lockout/tagout procedures, and working in a safe and hazard-free environment as well as

promoting and implementing and managing safety standards to employees and supporting networks.


Customer Relationship Management

Communicates effectively with customers and internal team to understand their needs and provide them with a

timely solution. This includes explaining the nature of the problem, the estimated time to repair, and the cost of

the repair.

Responds to customer inquiries and complaints and works to resolve issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.

Develops relationships with customers, commissioning agents and general contractors.


Team Development and Leadership/Mentoring

Adhere to all IE provided training, development and continued technicians products and services training to

ensure they are following IE best practices.

Mentor and per develop any technicians or sub-vendors requiring training or knowledge of IE products and

equipment.

Continued education, development, and safety training programs

Evaluate and approve safety programs and safety ratings for subcontractors.

Other Essential Duties

Maintains regular and consistent job attendance, comes to work and meetings on time.

Follows and complies with IE Core Values.

Follow and comply with IE safety program including following IE's Cardinal Safety Rules.

Must maintain a safe and clean work area at all times.


Requirements

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The

Education/Experience:

Electrical/Mechanical/Commissioning or Assembly background with 3+ years' experience and at least three years of field

experience; or equivalent combination of experience and education.


Business Experience:

Must have 1-2 years of business and contracting experience in a similar job position with emphasis on supplier

agreements with general or subcontractors. Must be personable and be able to develop a professional relationship with

subcontractors and customer onsite supervisors.


Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical manuals, purchase orders, and project part specifications. Ability to write

reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to

questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public in a friendly and professional manner.


Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as voltage drop, cable runs calcs, sqft, volume, OHMS law and battery run

time.


Customer Service Skills:

Ability to work effectively with multiple customers, subcontractors, and different personalities amongst a diverse set of

backgrounds and cultivate strong working relationships. Ability to address customer issues and resolve problems in a

timely manner.


Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems with limited guidance, and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations

where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions, diagrams and schematics

furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong PC skills, proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, and MS

Outlook.


Certificates and Licenses:

Journeyman Electrician/ HVAC/Commissioning Certification or License from any state, Electrical Engineering or Technical

Degree with similar field experience


Work Schedule:

Must be able to work a 40-hour work week and overtime as needed. Service calls may require night or weekend support

and coordination of team and resources for emergencies.


Location: Must be based in or near Columbus, OH or willing to relocate there to service the region the most efficiently. Relocation Packages may be available if eligible.


Travel:

30% travel time will be expected estimate from the home location of the region being serviced either onsite or in one of

IE's factories while gaining an understanding of IE projects, scopes of work, and field requirements.
