Field Service Manager


Cooperates with: All Departments


Primary Responsibility: This position is responsible for supporting customers with on-site service, technical support, and on-site training. Primary functions of this position are commissioning new SCR equipment; preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of existing SCR equipment; and telephone customer support. The Field Service Technician also prepares reports documenting the work performed and the performance of the equipment. The Field Service Technician typically works in a non-smoking environment.


Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning the total system scope supplied by MIRATECH on new installations
  • Perform routine maintenance and service on existing products
  • Provide telephone support to customers including troubleshooting and replacement parts identification
  • Site coordination and project meetings
  • Post-commissioning customer training on operations and maintenance
  • Daily reports to customers and internal staff while in the field
  • Follow up customer calls after service work completion
  • Keep up-to-date on company products and services
  • Plan own work schedule efficiently
  • Maintain test equipment and special tools calibration
  • Serve as MIRATECH's primary on-site technical representative at a designated customer facility for the duration of the assigned contract.
  • Provide immediate on-site response to alarms, system faults, and performance deviations on a 24/7 on-call basis during the dedicated site assignment.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the assigned site's equipment configuration, operating conditions, and historical performance trends.
  • Maintain continuous operational readiness of MIRATECH equipment at the assigned site, ensuring maximum uptime and emissions compliance.
  • Coordinate with MIRATECH Product Support and Engineering teams for escalation of complex technical issues.
  • Upon completion of the dedicated site contract, transition to standard Field Service Technician travel requirements (50-75% overnight travel).

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of industrial instrumentation & controls including analog transmitters, temperature/pressure measuring devices, PID controls.
  • Proficiency with AC and DC Circuits including Relay Logic
  • Sharp analytical mind with an interest in engines, controls, and emissions
  • Enthusiasm to learn and become an expert
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and work in a loosely structured environment
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Initial assignment may require full-time residence at a single customer site with 24/7 on-call availability for the duration of the contract. Following completion of the site assignment, travel requirements will align with standard Field Service Technician expectations (50-75% overnight travel).
  • 3-7 years prior field service technician experience or equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Applicant must pass a proficiency test.
  • Must possess valid driver's license
  • Must possess a passport or have the ability to obtain one

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand, walk, bend, climb, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Work on uneven terrain, scaffolds, ladders, catwalks, and elevated platforms.
  • Maintain physical stamina during physically and mentally demanding tasks, including travel and variable shift work.
  • Regularly lift, carry, push, or pull materials and tools up to 50 lbs unassisted and occasionally heavier items with assistance or mechanical aids.
  • Transport tools and equipment across job sites and within confined or restricted-access areas.
  • Perform tasks at elevations exceeding 6 feet, using aerial lifts, scaffolding, or fall protection systems in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Enter, work in, and exit confined spaces, including tanks, ducts, and engine compartments, under permit-required confined space procedures.
  • Maintain situational awareness around active machinery and energized systems.
  • Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow) and around loud noise, dust, fumes, vibration, and engine exhaust.
  • Maintain clear vision (corrective lenses permitted), color recognition, and depth perception.
  • Detect abnormal sounds, smells, or vibrations from mechanical equipment.
  • Follow complex instructions, interpret technical drawings/manuals, and communicate hazards and tasks clearly with team members.
