Position Details:
Position: Field Service Engineer
Location: Raleigh, NC
Travel: 80% regional travel
Pay: $ 59,000 - $95,000
We are looking for Field Service Engineer to support critical power facilities. This positions will be based out of the Orlando, FL area. This position requires a qualified, hands-on, service-oriented technician to be involved with automatic transfer switch startups, modifications, warranty and emergency calls. Applicant should show desire to learn and advance to the Field Service Engineer level.
You will make an impact with the following skills and experience:
  • Applicant must carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Focus on work related to automatic transfer switches
  • Provide technical support of field startups (standard and non-standard systems), warranty efforts, remedial repairs, and preventative maintenance contracts
  • Supervising and ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, guidelines and laws
  • Conduct client communication in a highly customer service-oriented manner and potentially expand the scope of project work as well as negotiate any extra charges associated with work performed
  • All work and decisions shall be conducted in strict compliance of all regulatory laws
  • Travel requirements: Up to 80% travel

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 3+ years experience with the following:
    • Field Service Engineering
    • Electrical power including low voltage through medium voltage switchgear in support of critical power facilities (IE data centers, airports, etc...)
    • Experience with most types of automatic transfer switch testing
    • Reading schematics and blueprints for power control, automation and customer technical support
    • Familiarity with all applicable codes and industry standards
    • Proficient in taking care of client interactions and completing projects on time and within budget guidelines
    • Strong project management skills with excellent decision making, organization and management capabilities
    • Must be self-directed and very committed to customer satisfaction
  • Individuals must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing
  • Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of field service within the power distribution/ protection industry
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • Excellent customer service, time management and follow-up skills
  • Power distribution, DC/AC, Voltage Circuit Theory and practical troubleshooting skills
