Field Service Engineer – Medical Imaging (West Coast Region)
Employment Type: Full-Time | Experience: 10+ Years

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Field Service Engineer specializing in Medical Imaging Equipment (primarily MR and CT). In this role, you will provide exceptional on-site service, technical support, installations, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting for imaging systems at healthcare facilities, primarily within a hospital network in the Greater Los Angeles area.

Key Outcomes & Goals

  • Ensure imaging systems operate to OEM performance standards through proper calibration, maintenance, and repair.
  • Support local hospital networks and regional clients with field service needs, including emergency service calls.
  • Foster strong relationships with customers by delivering confident, courteous, and knowledgeable service.
  • Continuously improve engineering capabilities and contribute to company technical excellence.
  • Promote a positive, professional image of the company at every customer interaction.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance (PMs), installations, inspections, and advanced-level troubleshooting.
  • Independently resolve mechanical, electronic, and network-related issues with MR and CT systems, primarily GE OEM equipment.
  • Calibrate equipment to meet OEM specifications; resolve computer and hardware issues as needed.
  • Provide detailed documentation and reporting of service activities, processes, and technical issues.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal teams and on-site hospital staff.
  • Share on-the-ground insights and customer feedback with internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain and organize tools, parts, and company assets to ensure job readiness.
  • Travel regularly to client sites throughout the West Coast as required.

Candidate Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience servicing medical imaging equipment (MR, CT).
  • OEM Training: GE preferred (OEM, RSTI, or equivalent formal training required).

Technical Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing complex medical imaging systems.
  • Strong mechanical and computer systems aptitude.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent service tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of safety standards and compliance in healthcare settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general IT/networking skills.
