Description

At DOC SERVICES, we perform preventative and reactive maintenance on a variety of electromechanical equipment inside big box retail stores. With over 35 years of experience servicing over 1500 stores across the US our full certified technicians provide our customers with support and repair solutions designed to extend the life of their equipment, reducing down time and minimizing the impact of our customers' bottom line. 


GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

Electromechanical Field Service Technicians meet customer and company expectations while providing a variety of service including but not limited to reactive, preventative, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and similar. Work out of their home and respond to all service calls for customers as scheduled by their DSM. Equipment type and response times vary depending upon customer and company needs.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform billable work by maintaining, troubleshooting and servicing equipment 
  • Abide by all OSHA, customer and DOC safety regulations including PPE requirements 
  • Respond to all service calls within customer expectations and DOC requirements 
  • Provide all documentation as required by customer and DOC through handheld device
  • Perform cost effective service and repairs while maintaining quality 
  • Seek out technical support while onsite timely so as not to prolong time spent to remedy a repair 
  • Available to be reached via phone for reactive service repairs unless otherwise approved
  • Order the correct parts needed for the repair
  • Maintain inventory on hand and keep organized for the ability to quickly find the part when needed for the job
  • Arrive to job on-time and prepared with tools, instructions, parts and safety equipment 
  • Travel to and from customer locations 
  • Perform inventory reconciliation accurately and as scheduled 
  • Return parts as requested, following instructions and in a timely fashion
  • As directed by DSM, evaluate preventable service problems at customer locations and educate or make recommendation to customer 
  • Other duties as needed 



Requirements

JOB COMPETENCES/EDUCATION/:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum two years of equipment repair experience or combination of training and experience.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical knowledge; ability to read and understand schematics 
  • Use computer applications including Microsoft office and call management software 
  • Know and understand safety regulations required as it relates to equipment repair
  • Strong organization skills; self-motivated and detail oriented 
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record along with proof of insurance 
  • Satisfactory background check is required
  • Maintain a professional appearance and behavior, and a positive attitude 
  • Written, verbal and electronic communication skills 
  • Other duties as needed 


WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position will require you to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to stand, bend, and drive for extended periods of time, lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights of more than 6 ft.
