POSITION SUMMARY

USA Lacrosse is looking for a knowledgeable SR Manager, Facilities & Field Operations to join our team and oversee the daily operations, maintenance, safety, and efficiency of our headquarters facility, ensuring our workplace remains functional, compliant, and aligned with USA Lacrosse's organizational goals and needs.  This critical role manages relationships, budgets, and regulatory requirements while supporting the performance of the building and campus.  As a key member of the facilities team, this position manages Tierney Field, ensuring it is a best-in-class facility with a strong emphasis on hospitality, welcoming visitors and providing exceptional customer service.

The position also supports revenue generation by promoting and renting Tierney Field and campus facilities for events, partnering with marketing to attract teams and organizations to use USA Lacrosse's premier campus for their games and events.

If you are detail oriented, customer-focused, and experienced in office and/or athletic facility operations, this could be a great opportunity.  You will help manage and showcase the home of USA Lacrosse's National Teams while supporting a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for employees, athletes, fans, and visitors. 

A Typical Day Looks Like...

Facility & Operations Management

  • Oversees the operations and management of USA Lacrosse headquarters (HQ), including the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame Museum and Tierney Field. 
  • Works with the facilities team to manage facility projects, including, but not limited to, repairs, renovations, construction, and ground maintenance.  This includes proactively making recommendations and proposals for repairs and upgrades to make USA Lacrosse's HQ campus safe, functional, and inviting for employees and visitors.
  • Proactively develops a preventative maintenance schedule and plan to ensure external campus systems, equipment, and infrastructure are properly maintained.  This includes vendor research and selection as well as scheduling and overseeing ad hoc repairs as necessary.
  • Prepares and monitors annual operating budgets and makes recommendations for facilities capital improvements.  This includes providing necessary reports to management on the facility and its operations (i.e., economic impact reports).
  • Assists with creating and maintaining safety procedures and emergency preparedness plans, including ensuring thorough documentation of policies and procedures.  This includes identifying areas of facility vulnerability and making procedural recommendations as appropriate. 
  • Assumes on-call responsibilities after hours and manages the selection, training, and supervision of Interns and volunteers for field events and Museum operations.

Facility Rental & Event Support

  • Serves as the primary contact and liaison for USA Lacrosse HQ campus rentals and use of Tierney Field.  This includes, but is not limited to, schedule coordination, staff scheduling for events, and ensuring all required documents and agreements are completed prior to the event.
  • Works with facilities team to oversee the schedule and coordination of reservations for the USA Lacrosse HQ campus and the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame Museum.
  • Provides operational support and planning for the Events team, National Teams, and any other department hosting an event at USA Lacrosse HQ.
  • Works with the marketing team to develop and deploy ongoing collateral and promotional materials and helps set the strategy to advertise and encourage use and rentals of the USA Lacrosse HQ campus and National Lacrosse Hall of Fame Museum.
  • Creates requests for proposals and negotiates contract/vendor proposals.  This includes conducting vendor research and making recommendations as appropriate.    

Is This You...

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in facility management, event planning, and/or sports operations/management; previous experience working with sport teams and knowledge of lacrosse a plus.
  • Superior interpersonal and customer service skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Prior experience managing and operating a facility used for event rentals preferred. 
  • Enthusiastic go-getter with a "roll up your sleeves" and "get it done" attitude.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience working with computerized systems (i.e., security technology platforms) and Saleforce a plus.
  • Comfortable managing others and giving directions in an event setting.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, problem solve, and meet required deadlines.

Expected Hours of Work

This position is generally expected to work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm and occasionally requires longer hours or weekend work as related to events and other business needs.  This is a hybrid position and works from the headquarters office in Sparks, MD three (3) days a week with the flexibility to work from home two (2) days a week. 

Compensation & Benefits Overview

The base pay range for this position is $62,000 to $72,000 commensurate with experience, plus opportunity for annual incentive pay.

Travel Requirements
