We're hiring a District Field Technician at our rental facility in Springfield, MO, and we're looking for someone who's ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, provide maintenance and repair for a variety of customer and company owned heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts and help us build the future of construction. Mechanics will have the opportunity to work on the newest fleet in the industry.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and offers overtime pay after working 40 hours. (This role is subject to on-call scheduling with additional compensation provided)
Primary Responsibilities
The District Field Technician is a field-based leadership and technical role, responsible for traveling within the assigned district and region to support, evaluate, coach, and provide feedback to other technicians. This role is a hands-on expert, personally handling complex diagnostics, troubleshooting, and major and minor repairs on a variety of customer and company-owned equipment. The technician must possess a mastery of skills across multiple domains, including shop and safety practices, EquipmentShare systems and software, and advanced technical training
  • Perform complex machine diagnosis and major component removal and replacement.
  • Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of customer and company-owned rental equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance (PMs) on a variety of equipment
  • Assist with the pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts, including safely loading and unloading while complying with DOT regulations for height, width, and weight.
  • Attend all Safety Meetings and consistently practice safe job practices for equipment repair.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
  • Will fill in at times during leadership gaps within store service areas
  • Required to drive and travel up to 90% of work week throughout assigned district and region
  • Ability to stay overnight for short and long periods of time

Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must own tools applicable to position
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
  • Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to travel weekly to support business needs
Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma, Trade school certificate preferred
  • Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Field Technicians may be required to be clean shaven in order to enter worksites for EquipmentShare customers who have this requirement
  • This is a safety sensitive position and any offer of employment will be contingent on passing a 10 panel drug screen
