M&J is seeking Construction Inspectors (Level II) to perform daily inspection of construction activities to ensure compliance with The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
Responsibilities
โ€ข Perform daily inspection of construction activities to ensure compliance with FHWA plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
โ€ข Monitor contractor operations including grading, drainage, paving, bridge construction, utilities, and traffic control devices.
โ€ข Prepare Daily Work Reports (DWRs) documenting contractor activities, installed quantities, and inspection observations.
โ€ข Verify materials used on the project meet required specifications.
โ€ข Coordinate materials testing and verify results in accordance with FHWA procedures.
โ€ข Monitor maintenance of traffic operations in accordance with the FHWA Work Area Protection Manual (WAPM).
โ€ข Report construction issues to the Senior Inspector or Resident Engineer.
โ€ข Maintain accurate field documentation for project records.
Qualifications
Required/Preferred Depending on Assignment:
  • Minimum 3-7 years of experience in transportation construction inspection.
  • NICET certification in Transportation Construction Inspection or Construction Materials Testing.
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I certification.
  • Nuclear Density Gauge Safety Certification.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Training.
  • ATSSA Traffic Control Technician (TCT) certification.
  • Materials testing certifications such as Soils and Aggregate Compaction or Asphalt Field Level I.
