About the Role

B&W Quality Growers is seeking a Field Supervisor to oversee daily field operations for the production and harvest of premium leafy greens, including watercress, arugula, spinach, and kale. Working closely with the Farm Manager, this role leads field crews, coordinates production activities, monitors crop performance, and ensures safe, efficient operations that meet quality, food safety, and production standards.


This position supports primarily outdoor farming operations in Florida or Tennessee, including outdoor hoop house/high tunnel production in Florida.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily field operations, including planting, cultivation, irrigation, crop maintenance, and harvesting.
  • Supervise, schedule, and direct field crews to meet production and harvest goals.
  • Monitor crop growth, plant health, irrigation, and field conditions, identifying issues and recommending corrective actions.
  • Support fertility, pest, disease, and weed management programs in collaboration with farm leadership.
  • Oversee harvesting activities to ensure product quality, yield, and operational efficiency.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate employees on safe work practices, harvesting techniques, and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain accurate labor, production, and field records using company systems and required documentation.
  • Communicate daily with Farm Managers, Harvest Supervisors, and cross-functional teams to execute production plans.
  • Ensure compliance with GAP, GMP, food safety, customer, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready work areas.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and safety.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Science, Agronomy, or a related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of agricultural supervisory experience.
  • Experience in commercial outdoor vegetable or leafy greens production preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of leafy greens production, irrigation, fertility, harvesting, crop quality, and integrated pest management.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze field conditions and make sound operational decisions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and electronic recordkeeping systems.
  • Knowledge of GAP, GMP, food safety, and workplace safety standards.
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform the physical demands of commercial farming.
