Job OverviewWe are seeking experienced and hands-on Field Service & Process Technicians to support the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, optimization, and service of advanced extrusion blow molding machinery. This role combines strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and processing expertise to ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and within performance specifications.
This is a highly travel-oriented role with domestic and international assignments, supporting customers, production teams, and engineering functions. Technicians will work independently or in small teams and rely on remote technical support when required.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerform start-up, commissioning, and optimization of blow molding equipment at customer sites and internal facilities
Provide technical service, repair, and maintenance support for industrial machinery
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and processing-related issues
Read and interpret engineering schematics, machine manuals, and technical drawings
Analyze machine data and adjust process parameters to improve performance, quality, and efficiency
Install retrofit components, perform upgrades, rebuilds, and field modifications
Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, and corrective repairs using appropriate tools and instruments
Provide remote and on-site technical support, including advanced troubleshooting assistance
Train customers and internal teams on machine operation, maintenance, safety, and best practices
Document service activities through detailed technical and field service reports
Support Engineering, Production, and Applications teams with testing, process development, and project execution
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven analysis and performance metrics
Promote equipment performance reliability and customer satisfaction
Travel & Work StructureApproximately 50-70% travel, including domestic and international assignments
Travel typically occurs during the workweek; technicians are generally home on weekends
Work schedule may include rotational assignments (e.g., ~2 weeks on travel / 2 weeks onsite, flexible based on business needs)
During initial 6-12 months, onboarding and training will be primarily onsite at the main facility
When not traveling, technicians will report to the facility and may support service operations, internal projects, and production assistance
All travel is coordinated internally, with company-issued credit card and per diem provided
Required Qualifications2-3+ years of hands-on experience in blow molding or similar industrial manufacturing environment
Strong experience with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics and technical documentation
Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery
Associate degree in a technical field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong field service mindset with ability to work independently and solve complex technical issues
Willingness to travel extensively (50% or more, including international travel)
Preferred Qualifications5+ years of experience in plastics processing (especially extrusion blow molding)
Strong understanding of polymers, processing parameters, and machine optimization
Experience in machine commissioning, start-up, or technical project leadership
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
Data-driven approach to process optimization and continuous improvement
