Position Description:

Performs test automation at all levels of testing stages (unit, component, integration, and functional tests) using JUnit, Mockito, and Cucumber for integration testing. Applies Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles using Java and JavaScript. Conducts testing using frameworks, test runners, and automation tools (Cucumber, Selenium, and Cypress). Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.

  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.

  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.

  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.

  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.

  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.

  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.

  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing enterprise grade applications and database solutions to support and implement Information Technology (IT) solutions within a financial services, operations, or product development environment.

Or, alternatively, Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing enterprise grade applications and database solutions to support and implement Information Technology (IT) solutions within a financial services, operations, or product development environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise ("DE") architecting and implementing high-performance back-end components using Java and Scala, delivering resilient RESTful Application Programming Interface (API) services that reinforce compliance platform reliability; implementing advanced architectural patterns, orchestrating services, and improving request-handling efficiency to support large-scale regulatory processing, using Spring Boot and Maven; and designing and executing robust unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.

  • DE building sophisticated SQL and PL/SQL solutions for complex financial datasets, leveraging query optimization, indexing strategies, and execution-plan tuning; and enhancing database (DB) procedures with precise data transformations and implementing performance-driven routines to meet strict regulatory accuracy requirements, using SQL Developer.

  • DE developing and maintaining event-driven compliance workflows using Apache Kafka, establishing durable messaging patterns, enabling fault-tolerant processing, and ensuring real-time propagation of rule-test results across distributed systems; and designing scalable producer-consumer patterns and defining schema-managed topics to automate work-item creation and improve system responsiveness across distributed environments, using Spring Kafka and Offset Explorer.

  • DE driving high-quality software delivery in Agile and Scrum environments using Jira, facilitating iterative development, sprint planning, retrospectives, and fostering cross-team collaboration; implementing GitHub to enforce code quality and maintain traceability through structured branching along with conducting thorough pull-request reviews; and coordinating with product owners, Quality Assurance (QA), DevOps, and business partners to align technical solutions with business objectives and ensure reliable delivery.

Salary: $136,500.00 to $141,000.00/year.
