Position Summary
Trideum Corporation is seeking an AFSIM Software Engineer to support multiple software and simulation development programs at the U.S. Army Redstone Test Center (RTC). As an AFSIM Software Engineer you will work with a team of software engineers to provide Modeling and Simulation (M&S) development and support to US Army Aviation (manned and unmanned) programs, and perform a key role in developing mission-critical simulation models, using the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) framework to deliver high-fidelity, real-time representations of command and control and flight systems. The person in this role will be responsible for designing and implementing distributed simulation architectures to perform a variety of training and test activities.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Design, develop, and maintain simulation and modeling software using AFSIM to support mission analysis, scenario development, and performance assessments
  • Implement integration solutions to ensure the interoperability of AFSIM with other simulation components and tactical systems
  • Create and customize simulation models to represent various components, including sensor suites, aircraft, and communication systems
  • Support all aspects of the Agile/Scrum software development process
  • Work with a core group of software/simulation engineers to provide M&S solutions for our government customers
  • Coordinate software interface with Systems Engineering requirements activities

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school in a technical discipline (engineering, science, computer science/engineering)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AFSIM and/or other high-fidelity simulation tools
  • Knowledge of real-time simulation frameworks, military simulation systems, and modeling methodologies
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as C++, Python, or similar languages
  • Experience with software development environments utilizing Agile methodologies
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is required

Desired Qualifications:
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Experience with distributed simulation protocols including DIS, TENA, and HLA
  • Experience in LVC (Live, Virtual, and Constructive) test and/or training environments
  • Experience with US Army Aviation system modeling and simulation tools
