Financial Planning Consultant
To be eligible for consideration of this role, your primary residence must be located within a 90 mile radius of the Salt Lake City, UT Regional Center.

The Financial Planning Consultant delivers proactive, personalized financial planning and integrated financial solutions that help Fidelity Advisory Services (FAS) clients make confident decisions and progress toward their financial goals. Operating within a team-based, technology-enabled model, Advisors guide clients across key financial priorities such as retirement planning, investment management, development of a holistic portfolio strategy, and supporting broader financial needs using Fidelity's full suite of planning tools and solutions. Advisors will provide this support to a broad array of clients with varying needs, including onboarding recently enrolled clients, serving clients with complex planning goals, and those with more routine portfolio management needs.
The Expertise We're Looking For
  • FINRA Series 7 required
  • FINRA Series 63 and 65 or Series 66 licensed
  • Insurance license within 90 days of hire
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous financial services experience; managed solutions experience preferred
  • Planning and Advice mindset with a solid understanding of Fidelity's offerings
  • Ability to deliver high-quality IQ and EQ client experience through FRM mastery
  • Proven practice management skills that drive scalable, high-impact business results

The Purpose of Your Role
The role of the Financial Planning Consultant (FPC) is to support and guide Fidelity clients who have a managed portfolio. It is a direct customer contact role in which the FPC will address various aspects of clients' financial plans, including managed accounts, serving as Advisory Services' voice to the customer.

  • Strong written, verbal, & interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build trust & deepen client relationships
  • Experience running effective, well-structured pre-scheduled guidance appointments, as well as engaging in insight-driven, timely proactive outreach
  • Demonstrate strong Practice Management and Operational Excellence through effective prioritization, calendar management, and ownership of responsibilities
  • Comfort operating within a team-based service model while managing time, workflow, and follow-through
  • Fluency using digital advice, planning, and investment tools to deliver personalized recommendations
  • Ownership of end-to-end advice experience, from preparation through implementation
  • Adaptability and willingness to continuously learn as client needs evolve
  • Ability to engage clients virtually (via Zoom) as the default meeting format unless an alternative is requested by the client
