Job description

Job Summary:
eTeam is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Onshore Test Lead to drive automation testing efforts for a high-performance, consumer-facing connectivity platform. This hands-on role involves test planning, automation scripting, execution, and mentoring a team of testers to ensure the highest software quality standards.
Responsibilities:
• Lead day-to-day QA/test activities for automation projects across UI and backend services.
• Develop and maintain automated test suites using Selenium WebDriver and API testing tools such as Postman, RestAssured, or similar.
• Define test strategies, automation frameworks, and execution plans aligned with project goals.
• Collaborate with development and product teams to understand requirements, define test scenarios, and ensure early validation.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure consistent regression coverage.
• Review test scripts, ensure coding best practices, and mentor junior testers in automation.
• Track test progress, manage defects, and report quality metrics to stakeholders.
• Ensure test coverage for edge cases, performance, and system integration points.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5+ years of experience in software testing with a focus on automation.
• Strong proficiency in Selenium WebDriver, Java/Python, and API test tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured).
• Experience with testing RESTful data services and APIs
• Should be able to create automation frameworks from scratch or enhancing existing ones.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI), version control (Git), and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
• Should have worked on agile methodology
• Good understanding of Java and .NET Web applications
• Must be familiar with Test Metrics, Change and Release Management processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Must be available to work full-time onsite in Chicago, IL
Preferred:
• Knowledge of API testing using API testing tools like Postman or fiddler will be an advantage
• Proficiency in using automation framework like Web, Mobile, Desktop, Container, Backend APIs, DB, MQ, Cloud tech AWS or similar, AccelQ, Selenium, SeeTest or similar, ReadyAPI, UFT, AI tool, ADO/JIra, Dynatrace or similar APM tool
• Knowledge of SOA test automation framework, process, strategy
