Position Summary

The Fiberglass Chopped amp; Finished Department Technician is responsible for preparing, chopping, finishing, inspecting, and packaging fiberglass products according to company quality and safety standards. This position requires attention to detail, safe operation of tools and equipment, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate fiberglass chopping equipment and finishing tools safely and efficiently
  • Trim, grind, sand, and finish fiberglass parts to required specifications
  • Inspect products for defects, quality issues, and dimensional accuracy
  • Read and follow work orders, production schedules, and manufacturing instructions
  • Prepare materials and maintain organized workstations
  • Apply fillers, coatings, or touch-up materials as needed
  • Maintain production quotas while meeting quality standards
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures, including proper PPE usage
  • Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, or safety issues to management
  • Assist with inventory counts and material handling when needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of department and equipment
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous manufacturing, fiberglass, automotive, marine, or composites experience preferred
