Position title: Senior Technical Delivery Manager

Department: IT Delivery

Reports To: Director, IT Delivery

Position Summary

The Senior Technical Delivery Manager (Sr. TDM) is responsible for end-to-end ownership of their assigned domain, including delivery execution, process governance, vendor management, and continuous improvement. This role emphasizes ownership, accountability, and domain-level leadership across internal teams and external vendors.

Key ResponsibilitiesDomain Ownership & Delivery Accountability
  • Own delivery performance across assigned domain.
  • Establish and enforce delivery processes and governance.
  • Ensure alignment to business outcomes and measurable value.
  • Drive accountability across teams and vendors.
  • Resolve systemic delivery issues and process gaps.
Vendor Management & Oversight
  • Lead vendor delivery managers and oversee performance.
  • Govern vendor engagements, SLAs, and capacity.
  • Approve vendor timesheets and invoices.
  • Maintain vendor scorecards and provide performance feedback.
Process Ownership & Continuous Improvement
  • Own all assigned delivery processes.
  • Identify and drive measurable process improvements.
  • Enforce delivery standards and governance.
  • Lead retrospectives and continuous improvement initiatives.
Program Leadership & Roadmap Management
  • Own domain-level delivery roadmaps and collaborate with other domain leads.
  • Lead estimation and planning efforts.
  • Provide delivery forecasts and manage risks and dependencies.
Financial & Capacity Management
  • Support budget planning and oversight.
  • Ensure vendor spend aligns with scope and delivery outcomes.
  • Optimize capacity and cost efficiency.
Delivery Leadership & Talent Development
  • Mentor Technical Delivery Managers across the organization.
  • Drive consistent delivery standards.
  • Foster a one-team culture across internal and vendor teams.
Metrics, Reporting & Performance Management
  • Define and maintain delivery performance metrics.
  • Develop new metrics and reporting mechanisms.
  • Use metrics to drive accountability and improvement.
Stakeholder & Vendor Communication
  • Provide executive-level delivery updates.
  • Serve liaison across stakeholders, teams, and vendors.
  • Ensure clear communication of expectations and performance; clearly (and thoughtfully) articulate when either are not reached.
Qualifications

Required:

  • 10+ years in technical delivery or program management.
  • Experience in e-commerce or digital platforms.
  • Multi-vendor and multi-team delivery leadership experience.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Proven experience with developing and maintaining delivery metrics, governance, and financial oversight.
  • Proven agile track record.

Preferred:

  • Experience with enterprise commerce platforms (Adobe, SAP, Magento).
  • Vendor ecosystem experience.
  • PMP, CSM, or SAFe certification.
