Position Overview


EnterSource is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Aerial Lineman to join our Fiber Optic Construction team. This position plays a key role in building and maintaining aerial fiber networks that deliver high-speed broadband services to our customers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in aerial construction, pole work, fiber installation, and splicing, with a commitment to quality workmanship and safety.


Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair aerial fiber optic cable and related hardware on poles and in the field.
  • Perform fiber splicing, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure signal integrity and network reliability.
  • String and lash fiber optic cable using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Climb utility poles safely using hooks, ladders, or bucket trucks as required.
  • Read and interpret construction prints, maps, and work orders.
  • Set and anchor poles, transfer lines, and install strand and hardware.
  • Assist with cable labeling, network documentation, and quality control.
  • Ensure compliance with company, OSHA, and local safety standards at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers.
  • Operate construction equipment such as bucket trucks, tensioners, and stranders.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Qualifications


Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of experience in aerial telecommunications or electrical line work.
  • Ability to climb poles and work at heights up to 50 feet.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
  • Working knowledge of fiber optic and coaxial cable systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety and teamwork.

Preferred:

  • Experience with fiber splicing, OTDR testing, and light source/power meter usage.
  • Familiarity with NESC and OSHA standards.
  • Previous experience in fiber optic network construction or ISP/OSP environments.
  • Bucket truck operation certification or training.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Work in all weather conditions and varied terrain.
  • Standing, climbing, bending, and working at heights for extended periods.
