Role Description

As a highly motivated Project Manager focused on Data Center Fiber Optic Construction, you will leverage your experience and technical expertise to lead complex projects with numerous cross-functional teams. You plan requirements with internal customers and external partners to usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes working with customers to develop project scopes, managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Your project teams can span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it's your job to keep all the stakeholders coordinated and informed on the project's progress and schedule.


Technical Skills and Requirements

  • Construction project/program management experience with fiber optic systems and low voltage telecom/security, preferably in the data center environment
  • Experience reviewing construction documents for technical accuracy and feasibility
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and lead internal/external cross-functional and partner teams to develop scope, project plan, budgets, and schedules
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering large-scale projects on-time, on/under budget, with a clear emphasis on safety and quality
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of fast track design build processes and associated documents and contracts.
  • Demonstrated skills in requirements gathering, resource organization, task prioritization, scheduling and achieving objectives on schedule within budget.
  • Experience in developing requests for proposal (RFPs), scheduling projects, cost engineering, budgeting and forecasting costs, reporting project status and costs, procurement and in negotiating with contractors and vendors.
  • In-depth knowledge of fiber optic testing standards and equipment


Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience focused on telecommunications, low-voltage and fiber-optics construction experience.
  • RCDD preferred but not required.
