Job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fiber Splicer II Technician to join our Outside Plant (OSP) team in Irvine, California. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of fiber optic infrastructure to ensure reliable network performance and efficient data transmission.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fiber splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and telecommunications infrastructure, along with a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform fiber optic splicing, testing, and certification of network infrastructure
  • Utilize fusion splicers, OTDRs, and specialized testing tools to ensure low-loss connections
  • Conduct OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) testing to verify splice quality
  • Assist with installation and configuration of network equipment including switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades of fiber and network systems in the field
