Job description

We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Electrician / Fiber Optic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting fiber optic and structured cabling systems in commercial and industrial environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cable.
  • Install, terminate, and troubleshoot Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A cabling.
  • Perform fiber optic splicing, testing, and certification using OTDRs, power meters, and other testing equipment.
  • Install conduit, cable trays, J-hooks, and other support systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and project specifications.
  • Label, document, and test completed installations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair low-voltage and fiber optic systems.
  • Follow OSHA safety standards and maintain a clean work area.
  • Travel to job sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in low-voltage, structured cabling, or fiber optic installation.
  • Experience with fiber termination, splicing, and testing.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling standards.
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in commercial construction environments.
