Job description


Job Summary: Fiber Components and TEST Department in East Granby CT has a need for an Assembly and Test Technician to support the business. We are looking for an energetic and motivated person which will be challenged in manufacturing working with state-of-the art fiber assembly technology.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
โ€ข Work per work instructions - Assembling Optical Pieces and Testing Optical Fibers
โ€ข Document the manufacturing process as required
โ€ข Inspect parts/assemblies under microscope
โ€ข Perform basic equipment maintenance & calibration
โ€ข Troubleshoot equipment as needed
โ€ข Complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing
โ€ข Assist recommending solutions to technical problems
โ€ข May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment
โ€ข Assist engineers as needed
โ€ข Cross-training in other areas as needed
Education & Experience
โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent
โ€ข Previous experience or practice executing delicate tasks with small, fragile parts
Typically requires a minimum of 2+ years of related experience; basic knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through work experience. May require vocational or technical education.
โ€ข Computer literacy including data entry in Excel
โ€ข Ability to see details at close range
โ€ข Excellent hand to eye coordination
โ€ข The job requires access to defense articles and related technical data subject to the International Traffic and Arms Regulations ("ITAR") 22 C.F.R. ยงยง 120-130. Therefore applicants must be U.S. persons as the term is defined in ITAR ยง 120.15
Duration: 6 months, depending on performance
