Description
Socket is seeking a skilled Field Services Technician- Tier II to join our talented workforce. In this role, you'll deliver expert onsite installation services for residential customers. You'll play a key role in ensuring a seamless experience for our customers as they connect to Socket's fiber network. This role will require travel to our various service areas and will be required to work in most conditions.
Location
This role will work in Cuba and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform independent installations and repairs for residential customers.
• Install and configure customer equipment, including routers, modems, and Wi-Fi gateways.
• Deliver an exceptional customer experience by being professional, friendly, and knowledgeable during all service visits.
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity and service issues with accuracy and efficiency.
• Install, terminate, and test network cabling, adhering to all relevant codes and standards.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of service activities.
• Safely operate company vehicles and equipment, including ladders and bucket trucks, in accordance with all safety protocols and DOT/OSHA regulations.
• Maintain a clean driving record and represent Socket with professionalism in the field.

Experience/Knowledge Required:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in telecommunications, installation, construction, and utility work
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with no restrictions.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Comfortable and able to work in both underground and aerial environments (e.g., climbing ladders up to 32ft and operating a bucket truck).
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Able to enter and safely operate a bucket truck with a weight limit of 300 lbs.
• Must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work on Saturdays and/or Sundays.
• Willingness to obtain a class E license if offered
Preferences:
• Demonstrated experience with CAT3 and CAT5 cabling, including installation, termination, and testing.
• Working knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies and basic networking principles.
• Ability to test and install customer ADSL/xDSL circuit orders with the appropriate local exchange carrier (LEC).
• Knowledge of cable pulling, terminations, closet buildouts, and compliance with building and fire codes.
