Job description

Fertilizer Applicator
Pay range: $25 to $30 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7am–5/6pm (Fridays as needed for weather make-up days)
The Role:
Ironwood Outdoor Services in Rogers, MN, is looking to add a Fertilizer Applicator to their growing team. You'll be responsible for the safe, accurate application of fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides across HOA and commercial properties. You'll work independently in the field while staying closely connected with the broader landscape and maintenance crews.
What You'll Do:
  • Safely mix, apply, and store fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides per work orders and treatment plans
  • Inspect properties to identify pests, weeds, and disease; diagnose issues and recommend treatment strategies
  • Operate and maintain sprayers, spreaders, and calibration equipment in excellent working condition
  • Follow detailed application schedules to ensure timely service across all assigned accounts
  • Adhere strictly to product labels, MSDS guidelines, and all safety and PPE protocols
  • Accurately log application details including chemicals used, rates, target areas, and weather conditions
  • Maintain chemical inventory records and ensure compliance with EPA and state/local regulations
  • Coordinate with landscape and maintenance teams to support holistic property care
  • Assist management in addressing client questions about chemical applications professionally and knowledgeably
  • Stay current through continuing education to maintain licensure and industry knowledge
What We're Looking For
  • Valid Minnesota Pesticide Applicator License/Certification (preferred, willing to train)
  • 1+ year of professional pesticide or fertilizer application experience in landscaping or lawn care, preferred
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and DOT Health Card (required)
  • Strong knowledge of turf pests, ornamental diseases, and weed identification
  • Ability to read and follow complex chemical labels and technical instructions
  • Commitment to safety, accuracy, and environmental responsibility
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors in all weather conditions
