Job title:  Landscape Maintenance Crew Member 

Reports to: Production Manager

Status: Full-time, non-exempt

Department: Maintenance


Primary Purpose:

The  Landscape Maintenance Crew Member  for our Maintenance Division would be a member of a crew of other laborers supported by a foreman. They will be implementing the projects sold by the Maintenance Division Account Managers at our client's homes and business locations. This position is full-time and reports to the Upper Marlboro, MD corporate office daily (Mon-Fri), occasional Saturdays if needed.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Follows written and verbal instructions from the crew leader (foreman), production manager, account manager and clients.
  • Plants new flowers, trees, grass, and shrubs.
  • Maintains gardens and lawns, including mowing, trimming, pruning, raking, and weeding.
  • Waters plants and lawns and adds fertilizer as needed.
  • Installs outdoor lighting and sprinkler systems.
  • Removes snow, ice and leaves, as needed.
  • Builds and renovates stone pathways, patios and ledges.
  • Adheres to all safety precautions.
  • Assists in distribution, maintenance, storage, and use of equipment (to include trailers, tools, vehicles, etc.)

Working Conditions:

Physical demands require constantly moving, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to perform work. Frequently operates machinery and will use hands/fingers and legs to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect and position materials. Frequently required to stand and walk, lift and/or move up to 20 to over 50 lbs. with assistance. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Constantly required to communicate with ability to talk and hear. Job will require constantly working outdoors in all types of weather conditions and exposure to elements. This can include heavy to moderate noise, extreme proximity to moving equipment or machinery, proximity to electrical energy, exposure to tools and machines used in construction industries.

Requirements


At least one year of landscaping experience is preferred, but not required

Over 18 years of age.

Highly motivated, self-driven, and detailed oriented.

Must be professional in appearance and actions.

Punctual and dependable with a can-do attitude.

Ability to work effectively with individuals of differing backgrounds, knowledge and skill levels.
