A Fertigation Manager oversees the process of applying fertilizers and nutrients through irrigation systems to optimize plant growth. They manage scheduling, monitor nutrient levels, and ensure efficient water usage. Their role involves working with agronomists, maintaining equipment, and implementing sustainable practices. This position is critical in agriculture, horticulture, and greenhouse operations to maximize crop yield and quality.
To thrive as a Fertigation Manager, you need expertise in plant science, irrigation systems, nutrient management, and typically a relevant degree in horticulture or agronomy. Familiarity with fertigation controllers, automated irrigation software, and integrated greenhouse management systems is also important, along with possible certifications in agricultural technology or irrigation management.
