Job Overview

Andy Frain Services is hiring dedicated Security Officers to join our team at the Port Aransas Ferry Terminal. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming atmosphere for thousands of daily commuters, visitors, and terminal staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Access & Traffic Control: Direct pedestrian and vehicle traffic safely through terminal entry points, parking areas, and boarding lanes.
  • Patrol & Surveillance: Conduct foot and mobile patrols of terminal grounds, perimeters, and facilities; monitor security cameras, alarms, and access-control systems.
  • Incident Response: Swiftly identify, respond to, and report safety hazards, suspicious activities, medical emergencies, or security incidents according to established site protocols.
  • Customer Service: Serve as an approachable, courteous ambassador for the ferry terminal, assisting passengers, employees, contractors, and local emergency personnel.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Accurately complete Daily Activity Reports (DARs), maintenance logs, and detailed incident reports in a timely manner.
  • Escort & Safety Checks: Provide authorized escorts for contractors, equipment, and sensitive deliveries while regularly inspecting for fire and life-safety hazards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Strong customer service, communication, and de-escalation skills.
  • High level of reliability, punctuality, and personal integrity.
  • Sharp situational awareness with the ability to handle dynamic situations calmly and decisively.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and standing/walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to pass required background checks and meet state security licensing requirements.

  • High School Diploma and/or equivalent (GED).
  • Must be willing to submit to a background and drug screen; any offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background investigation.
  • Minimum 1 year of prior relevant experience as a security officer and/or an LEO
  • Texas Level II Security License required
