AmeriPro EMS is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide essential Basic Life Support (BLS) care and safe medical transport in both emergency environments. This role focuses on patient assessment, direct BLS treatment, operational readiness, and strong teamwork in support of Paramedics and other public safety partners. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments and provide BLS interventions such as CPR, oxygen delivery, bleeding control, splinting, and vital signs monitoring.
  • Assist Paramedics by preparing equipment and performing delegated tasks during ALS calls.
  • Monitor patient condition during transport and relay updates to the Paramedic or receiving facility.
  • Complete accurate, timely electronic documentation of BLS care and patient interactions.
  • Operate the ambulance safely as assigned, following AmeriPro driving standards and traffic regulations.
  • Maintain ambulance and equipment readiness through inspections, cleaning, restocking, and reporting issues.
  • Perform stretcher operations, lifting/moving patients, and securing equipment to support safe transport.
  • Participate in required training and quality improvement activities to maintain EMT proficiency.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
  • Frequently is required to stand and walk
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, stand, or balance
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 180 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 300 pounds with assistance from others
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Qualifications

  • Previous EMT work experience
  • Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) and/or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) training
  • Technology proficiency

Certification & Licensure Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification
  • Current State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification / licensure in good standing
  • Current National Registry NREMT certification (if required by state)
  • Current CPR: BLS certification
  • Valid State driver's license
  • FEMA IS Certifications (IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800)
  • Strong people skills and proven ability to collaborate in a team
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to comprehend and execute instructions in English
