The Lightbox Counselling and Psychotherapy Association is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team. The dynamic work environment at Lightbox is characterized by flexibility and autonomy. While your role will primarily be remote, you will have access to our outpatient office facilities for in-person consultations as needed. • Conduct intake assessments to understand client needs, formulate accurate diagnoses, and collaboratively develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide evidence-based psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families, utilizing modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Narrative Therapy.
• Maintain clinical documentation in compliance with California regulations and ethical standards, ensuring timely updates and completeness.
• Engage in weekly case consultations with peers and participate in clinical supervision when applicable, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and support.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient progress and treatment outcomes effectively.
• Stay informed about the latest research and developments in the field to enhance your therapeutic skills and methodologies.

In this role, you will work with a diverse client population, addressing a range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, trauma, and family dynamics. We welcome clients from various backgrounds, and it is essential that you possess a nuanced understanding of how factors such as race, culture, gender, and socio-economic status influence mental health. • Must hold an active LMFT license in California, in good standing.
• A Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of systems theory, trauma-informed care principles, and relational dynamics is essential.
• Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and written communication skills are necessary for effective case management and client interactions.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Two years of relevant professional experience working in community mental health, school-based services, or with high-acuity clients is highly preferred.
• Experience with diverse populations and an informed understanding of socio-cultural factors impacting mental health.
