AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITYÂ Â
- Handle sires of varying ages and sizes in a calm, confident manner for optimum production Â
- Work in a system using established protocolsÂ
- Perform regular livestock care including feeding, cleaning, moving cattle, assisting with health testing and veterinary treatments, and other routine tasks Â
- Operate company farm equipment and vehicles Â
- Clean and maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment Â
QUALIFICATIONSÂ Â
RequiredÂ
- Comfortable working with large animals Â
- Ability to perform occasional planned weekend dutiesÂ
- Capability to lift/carry up to 50 poundsÂ
- Capacity to work on feet and stand for long periods of timeÂ
- Willingness to learn and follow company protocols Â
- 5+ years of previous livestock handling experienceÂ
- Experience detecting health and disease symptoms in cattleÂ
- Ability to perform basic equipment and building maintenance repairsÂ
- Post-secondary education in agriculture or related fieldÂ
- Basic computer skills working with Microsoft OfficeÂ
