Job description

Cattle Feed Truck

Pay: $27.00-$30.00 Plus per hour.

 Wage is negotiable based on experience and credentials

Additional pay:

●        Bonus pay

●        Overtime pay

Schedule:

●        10-hour shifts may vary depending on seasonal workload and other factors

●        Day shift

●        Weekends are required on a rotational schedule.

  Feed Truck Drivers

This position plays a critical role in the daily care of our cattle by ensuring feed is delivered accurately, efficiently and on schedule.  With this role comes the responsibility of getting to know our animals and what rations they require for optimum results in cattle feeding.

About the Job:

●        Operating feed trucks and delivering rations throughout the yard to cattle pens.

●        Monitoring and learning the specific feeding requirements for different groups of cattle.

●        Ensuring timely feeding schedules to maintain animal health and growth.

●        Performing routine maintenance on feed trucks and feed mill to ensure they are in good working condition.

           Weigh and sample delivery trucks

●        Communicating with other team members and management regarding any issues or observations with the animals or             equipment.

●        Following all safety protocols and ensuring the cleanliness of the feeding equipment and yard.

Qualifications:

●        Valid Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driving record.

●         Class 3 for Agriculture is an asset

●        Experience operating heavy equipment or agricultural equipment is considered an asset. 

●        Ability to use feedlot software. 

●        Comfortable working at heights and in all weather conditions.

           Basic mathematical skills

●        Attention to detail and ability to follow feeding instructions accurately.

●        Strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to animal welfare.

●        Physical stamina, the ability to lift 50lbs.

●        Previous farm or feedlot experience is an asset.
