Job description

Position Summary
The Tractor Trailer Driver is responsible for transporting parts, components, and equipment to and from customer, vendor, and company locations and job sites. Truck Drivers must be able to perform independently under limited supervision. Examples of the types of machinery that the Driver will transport include earthmoving equipment, diesel engines, electric power generators, lift trucks, and allied products. Drivers will also transport palletized loads, hydraulic cylinders, final drives, undercarriage components and tracks, and other items associated with our business. Tractor Trailer Drivers must be able to safely operate and load all types of equipment and safely operate a lift truck in the loading and unloading of cargo. The person in this role will demonstrate initiative, commitment to teamwork, enthusiasm for customer service, and dedication to finding solutions in an efficient manner. The Tractor Trailer Driver will advance in classification as attitude, skill level, and job performance allows.
Essential Responsibilities & Expectations
• Adhere to basic safe machine operation and inspection
• Conduct and document daily vehicle inspections
• Maintain truck and driving log according to DOT Regulations
• Adhere to DOT and Company safely regulations and procedures
• Insure preventive maintenance on truck is performed as required
• Load and unload truck cargo
• Properly secure truck cargo for transport
• Insure proper documentation for cargo including MSDS for hazardous materials
• Follows 5-Star Contamination Control procedures
• Maintain clean, neat, and orderly truck
• Keeps accurate records of all work

Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or the equivalent

Experience
  • Candidates for this position must possess strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Individuals with prior experience hauling equipment and operating will be given stronger consideration.
  • Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills are required for this position.
