To thrive as a FedEx Team Driver, you need a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), a clean driving record, and the ability to operate large vehicles safely over long distances. Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs), GPS navigation systems, and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations is crucial. Excellent teamwork, communication, and time management skills help drivers coordinate effectively with partners and meet tight delivery schedules. These skills and qualifications are vital for ensuring timely, safe deliveries and maintaining high standards of customer service and safety.

What is FedEx team driving?

FedEx team driving is when two professional truck drivers work together to transport freight for FedEx, typically covering long distances. The team alternates driving and resting, allowing the truck to be on the road for longer periods and making faster deliveries possible. This setup helps maximize efficiency and meet tight shipping deadlines. Team drivers often work on linehaul routes, moving goods between FedEx hubs across the country. Team driving can result in higher pay and more miles compared to solo driving, but it also requires good teamwork and communication.
