Job description

The Receiving Clerk will be responsible for efficiently and accurately handling the receipt and management of incoming materials. This role involves handling goods, verifying inventory, operating forklifts, and using computer systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, experience in warehouse operations, and proficiency in inventory control software.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Accurately receive items using the processes required of the company's systems.
  • Cross-check items and verify the correctness of inventory during receiving process.
  • Maintain accurate records of items received, ensuring proper documentation is in place for all transactions.
  • Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse lifting equipment to move and handle inventory.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • Computer operation - Operation of inventory control software, ERP/ MRP, word processing, spreadsheets, generate reports and ability to effectively communicate via email.
  • Experience using FedEx system or use of comparable system.
  • Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, deadline driven environment, as well as a strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Supervision Received:
Works with minimal supervision. Issues and concerns need to be communicated to supervisor.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Previous receiving experience required.
  • Lift truck experience a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Lifting: Occasionally raises objects from a lower to a higher position or moves objects horizontally from position-to position. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
  • Push/Pull: Occasionally uses upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
  • Reaching: Extends hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
  • Stooping: Bends body downward and forward at the waist. Weight is usually less than 50 lbs.
  • Standing: Standing for moderate levels of time. Infrequently more than 30 minutes at a time.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks. In frequently more than 30 minutes at a time.

Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
