Fedex Scanner information

What is a FedEx scanner?

Fedex Scanners are employees who are responsible for scanning and processing packages at various stages within FedEx facilities. Their main role involves using handheld barcode scanners to track packages as they arrive, move through, and depart from sorting centers. This helps ensure accurate tracking and timely delivery of parcels. Additionally, they may assist with sorting, loading, and unloading packages, as well as verifying shipment information.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a FedEx scanner?

To thrive as a FedEx Scanner, you need attention to detail, basic computer literacy, and the ability to lift and move packages, generally requiring a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with barcode scanning devices, warehouse management systems, and handheld scanners is important for tracking and processing shipments. Strong teamwork, time management, and reliability are essential soft skills for maintaining workflow efficiency. These skills ensure accurate package handling, timely deliveries, and smooth warehouse operations.

What are the typical work shifts and team structure for a FedEx scanner position?

FedEx Scanner positions often involve shift work, including early mornings, evenings, or overnight hours to accommodate package processing schedules. These roles are usually part of a larger warehouse or logistics team, where scanners collaborate closely with package handlers, supervisors, and drivers to ensure packages are accurately tracked and sorted. The environment can be fast-paced, and teamwork is essential for meeting tight shipping deadlines. New hires typically receive on-the-job training and can expect clear communication with team leads regarding daily responsibilities and process updates.

Bilingual Administrative Assistant - Part-Time

Job description

Description
De Wit Immigration Law is hiring a bilingual Administrative Assistant to work part-time in our Miami Shores office. This is the person who gets our case filings out the door.
Every petition this firm sends to the government passes through your hands before the attorney signs it. You print it, assemble it, check it against our filing checklist, scan it into the client file, and send it out by FedEx. You collect the mail each day, scan the notices the agencies send back, and file them in Google Drive and in the paper client file.
The work is hands-on, and it is most of the job. It is also the reason our filings arrive complete and on time. This is not a front-desk position: our intake team handles client calls remotely, so you would greet the occasional visitor rather than work a phone.
The schedule is twenty to twenty-five hours a week, four or five hours a day, Monday through Friday, at $20 to $25 an hour. We will settle on a daily window that works for both of us, and once it is set, it stays put. We are flexible about when you work. We are not flexible about being able to count on you.
That suits someone who needs the rest of the day for class or another commitment. If you are considering law school or a career in immigration, you will see how real cases are assembled and filed, which is difficult to learn anywhere but inside a firm.
Benefits include health insurance (the firm pays up to 99% of the employee's premium on our benchmark plan), vision coverage, a 401(k) with an employer match, 15 days of paid time off per year (prorated for part-time), 10 paid holidays, and a paid day off on your birthday.
HOW TO APPLY: To be considered, please complete our application at the link below.
https://careers.dewit.law/job?role=admin-assistant-part-time&utm_source=wizehire
The application includes a short writing exercise and an attention-to-detail test, and it asks for your resume, a cover letter, and a one-minute introduction video. Please set aside about 20 to 30 minutes. Applications completed through our portal are the ones our review team evaluates.
Responsibilities
โ€ข Print and assemble case filings, and check each one against our filing checklist before it goes to the attorney for signature.
โ€ข Scan completed filings into the client file and send them out by FedEx.
โ€ข Collect the daily mail, scan agency correspondence, and file it in Google Drive and in the physical client file.
โ€ข Keep the office running: supplies, vendors, and the occasional errand.
โ€ข Greet visitors to the office and help our remote intake team with overflow when they need it.
Qualifications
โ€ข You are fully fluent in English and Spanish, spoken and written. This is required.
โ€ข You can work in person at our Miami Shores office on a set weekday schedule, four or five hours a day.
โ€ข You are comfortable with hands-on work, because that is most of this job: printing and assembling case filings, checking them against a checklist, scanning, filing, and getting mail and FedEx packages out the door.
โ€ข You are careful and accurate, and you can follow a written checklist exactly. What leaves this office goes to the government, so the details matter.
โ€ข You are reliable and punctual, since the day's mail and filing deadlines depend on you being here.
โ€ข Office experience helps, but we do not require it, and we do not require a degree. Students, parents returning to work, and anyone looking for steady part-time hours are welcome to apply.
