Job description

Monitors, directs and control the movement of all aircraft on the FedEx Express ramp areas and coordinate this activity with the appropriate department.

Essential Functions

  • Monitors, directs and controls the movement of all aircraft on the company-owned ramp areas and coordinates this activity with the appropriate department.
  • Completes special reports, projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree/equivalent in Air Traffic Control or related degree. Must possess FAA Control Tower Operator (CTO) License/Credentials, or FAA Collegiate Training Initiative (CTI) Certificate, or Airport/Airline Ramp Tower Operator Certificate

can satisfy the bachelor's degree/equivalent requirement.


Minimum Experience

Three (3) years' experience as a fully certified Control Tower Operator in an FAA/ Military Air Traffic Control Facility, or Airport/Airline Ramp Tower Operator. CTI certification satisfies the (3) year experience requirement.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong planning, organizing, decision making and communication skills.

Job Conditions

Must have 20/20 or correctable to 20/20 vision. Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment. Non-covered safety-sensitive position. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness with significant attention to detail in a time critical environment.
