Job Summary
Van's Home Center is looking for a Delivery Driver to join our team! As a Delivery Driver, you are a key member of our Warehouse team. You are responsible for delivering a variety of home furnishings and appliances to our clients. Exemplifying our code of values, you show respect and courtesy to all customers and employees. This position is right for you if you are reliable, hard-working, self-motivated, and able to work well within a team. Ideally, you are driven to provide the highest level of customer service and satisfaction and able to effectively manage a variety of situations on a day-to-day basis.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and different routes
  • Installation of home appliances
  • Exude the utmost respect for customers and their homes/personal property, and take all precautions to avoid damages during delivery and/or installation
  • Follow route and schedule
  • Load, unload, prepare, inspect and operate delivery vehicle as needed
  • Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jack
  • Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
  • Must be able to lift and move a minimum of 50 to 100lbs.
 
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record (no CDL required)
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
  • 1 Year delivery driving experience ideal but not required
  • Experience or knowledge in the plumbing, electrical and/or HVAC trades
  • Ability to drive multiple types of vehicles, i.e., box truck and express van
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to work well with others
  • Must have excellent time management skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, and maintain effective relationships with warehouse team members
  • Assisting in the Warehouse as needed, under the direction of the Warehouse and/or Operations manager
