Job description

The Warehouse associate is responsible for receiving, storing, handling, staging, and distributing raw materials and finished goods throughout the warehouse. This role supports the efficient flow of materials through the supply chain while ensuring accuracy of inventory, timely shipping and receiving, food safety compliance, and adherence to company safety, cGMP, and quality standards. The incumbent must be able to work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain a high attention to detail.
Warehouse Operations
  • Read work orders, requisitions, customer specifications, and production instructions if items need to be moved, gathered or distributed.
  • Load, unload, move, convey, and stage materials and products safely and efficiently to other designated areas.
  • Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and other warehouse equipment in accordance with certification and safety standards.
  • Dock, move, and set up trailers for customer deliveries.
  • Sort and store materials on racks, shelves, bins, silos, or refrigerated rooms according to size, type, product code, FIFO, type, style or storage requirements.
  • Open bales, crates, and containers safely.
  • Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for production or assembly
  • Fill work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distributes items to production workers
  • Drives vehicle to transport stored items from warehouse to plan or to pick up items from several locations for shipment

Shipping and Receiving
  • Receive incoming supplies, raw materials, and finished goods into the warehouse.
  • Verify shipments against purchase orders, invoices, bills of lading, and UPS/FedEx documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Oversee proper loading, unloading, handling, and documentation of shipments.
  • Prepare and process packing lists, bills of lading, shipping paperwork, and parcels.
  • Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and trucking companies regarding shipments and trailer availability.
  • Inspect trailers for cleanliness, leaks, or damage prior to loading.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed

Inventory Control and Systems
  • Track, weigh, count, and record materials to ensure conformance with company standards.
  • Perform daily raw material counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Participate in monthly and annual physical inventories.
  • Monitor warehouse records and report discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
  • Enter all warehouse movements, transfers, work orders, and inventory transactions into Oracle or other warehouse systems.

Food Safety Responsibilities
  • Monitor and verify inbound and outbound materials to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure all product contact surfaces are restored to a sanitary condition after job completion.
  • Correctly document food safety and quality data.
  • Report product or process failures that may impact food safety to Quality, Maintenance, or Line Supervision immediately.

Facility, Equipment, and Support Functions
  • Maintain forklifts and warehouse equipment; perform inspections and report maintenance needs.
  • Keep warehouse, silo, and trucking area clean, organized, and free of debris.
  • Order warehouse and operational supplies as needed.
  • Assist production operations as directed by management.
  • Perform special projects and additional related duties as assigned.
  • Meet deadlines and demonstrate strong attention to detail

Safety, Compliance, and Quality
  • Follow all company safety policies, Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements, and Employee Handbook rules.
  • Adhere to cGMP, PPE, food safety, and quality assurance guidelines.
  • Use required protective equipment and report damaged or missing safety devices.
  • Report hazards, regulatory violations, or unsafe conditions to supervision.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and inspections as required.
  • Request supervisory guidance when procedures are not understood.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred (minimum Grade 10 or equivalent).
  • 1+ year warehouse experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of forklift experience preferred

Licenses and Certifications
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Valid license to operate company vehicles or equipment, as applicable.

  • Basic arithmetic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance

  • Frequent walking on concrete floors.
