Job description

Job Title: Shipping and Receiving ClerkJob Description

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk coordinates all incoming and outgoing shipments, manages inventory movements, and ensures materials and finished products are packaged, documented, and delivered accurately and on time. This role supports production and other departments by handling materials efficiently, maintaining organized storage areas, and contributing to continuous process improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments with freight handling companies as well as small parcel carriers such as UPS and FedEx.
  • Deliver materials to and from appropriate physical locations within the facility in a timely manner and return unused materials to inventory.
  • Operate barcode scanners and perform data entry into the ERP system to support accurate inventory tracking and control.
  • Stack skids and pallets in designated areas, maintaining orderly storage and material flow.
  • Clean up and dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, strapping, and other packing materials in proper containers to keep work areas safe and tidy.
  • Assist the truck driver with loading and unloading materials and finished goods.
  • Package goods for shipment to customers and for returns to vendors, ensuring proper protection and labeling.
  • Plan, monitor, and order all materials required for packaging to ensure adequate stock and avoid delays.
  • Perform pickups and deliveries using the company vehicle as needed.
  • Build, construct, and assemble industrial crates for shipping small parts and finished products.
  • Assist other departments and perform additional tasks to support customer requirements and organizational objectives.
  • Participate in and help implement continuous process improvement activities related to shipping, receiving, and inventory handling.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall operations.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of experience in shipping and receiving roles.
  • Hands-on experience picking orders using pick slips or similar documentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Basic computer experience for data entry and use of inventory systems.
  • Experience with inventory control and inventory systems.
  • Experience with shipping and receiving processes in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience using barcode scanning equipment for inventory tracking.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems for recording material movements.
  • Ability to construct and assemble industrial crates or similar packaging solutions.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
