Job description

Position Summary:
Salary: 13.00 hourly
Summary:
The Federal Work-Study (FWS) program provides part-time jobs for students with financial need, allowing them to work around their class schedule. Students can gain professional experience working with college employees and community partners. Various positions are available in many departments including off-campus locations. Separate applications are available for each campus; however, students can only occupy one (1) FWS position within the College.
Eligibility:
  • Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Must be awarded Federal Work-Study through Financial Aid
  • Must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
  • Must be degree-seeking
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours that are financial aid eligible each term

Duties:
Job duties are dependent upon the department. Examples of general job duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing exceptional customer service
  • Answering phones and taking messages
  • Duplicating and filing
  • Data entry
  • Attending team meetings and training sessions as required
  • Responding promptly to direct supervisor and Career Center communications
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Customer service-oriented with a positive attitude. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion in accordance with FERPA (Family Education Rights and Privacy Act). Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. No experience is required. Must be willing to learn. Bilingual in Spanish & English is a plus, but not required.

Flexible, in accordance with the Federal Work-Study Program guidelines and departmental needs.
