Renewable Energy Tax Associate Attorney – Washington, DC or Houston, Texas

Direct Counsel is seeking a Renewable Energy Tax Associate Attorney to join a prestigious Am Law firm in its Washington, DC office. Qualified candidates interested in Houston may also be considered.

This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with 2–5 years of experience in transactional tax matters, particularly those involving renewable energy projects and tax credit-driven transactions. The successful candidate will join a nationally recognized tax practice and advise developers, investors, sponsors, and financial institutions on sophisticated renewable energy investments and related federal tax matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on the federal income tax aspects of renewable energy transactions.

  • Structure and negotiate tax equity investments for renewable energy projects.

  • Counsel developers, investors, and sponsors regarding eligibility for U.S. federal tax credits and related incentives.

  • Support the tax aspects of project acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and joint ventures.

  • Analyze and advise on federal tax issues affecting renewable energy developments and investments.

  • Draft and review transaction documents related to tax-driven investments and project financing structures.

  • Collaborate with attorneys across tax, project finance, energy, and corporate practice groups.
