Job description

Summary Provide front-line customer service and assist with the management of the pro shop, concession stand, public skate sessions/special events, building activities, and programs. Career Readiness Competencies: Communication Critical Thinking Professionalism Essential Functions Front Desk Operations: Answer phones professionally, process payments, monitor drop-in sessions, handle programming/course registrations, and assist office staff as needed Concessions & Sales: Prepare and serve food, manage merchandise/product inventory and stocking, operate during Falcon Varsity Hockey home games (setup, sales, tear down) Customer Service: Communicate Ice Arena policies, programs, and events to patrons while maintaining excellent business manners Facility Management: Perform daily cleaning duties, maintain clean and organized workspace, and execute opening/closing procedures Reservations & Events: Process Ice Rentals (Main & Multi), Lounge and Group reservations, birthday parties, and assist with public skate, cheap skate, and special events Safety & Compliance: Enforce Ice Arena policies, procedures, and safety protocols; execute emergency procedures when necessary Technical Skills: Operate DaySmart Software independently and use copy machine Communication: Maintain consistent communication through When to Work, Microsoft Teams, email, phone, and other methods as directed by supervisor Administrative: Follow all policies outlined in Student Employee Manual, attend scheduled meetings, support the mission of Athletics, and perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Possess and maintain current CPR, First Aid, AED certification. Complete required trainings.

Flexible availability to include building operation hours, specifically nights and weekends. Previous experience in ice hockey, figure skating, or other ice-related activities will be viewed as favorable. Basic computer and Microsoft Office knowledge.

Ability to respond positively and effectively to fast-paced and demanding, customer-oriented situations. Ability to withstand possible continuous standing. Responsible, dependable, works well with others, and enthusiastic.

High level of interpersonal communication skills. Ability to enforce all Ice Arena policies and regulations. Bowling Green State University is an equal opportunity employer.
