Job description

Custom Car Care in Decatur, Indiana is seeking an experienced Title Clerk/Office Assistant for our dealership. You must be organized with excellent attention to detail.
 
Title clerk/office assistant duties and responsibilities include: 
  • Prepare tax and title documents to transfer ownership of property.
  • Submit title documents to the appropriate government office, such as the Department of Motor Vehicles or online filing systems.
  • Verify that funds have been collected on sales before processing titles and verify the amount of money still owed.
  • Look over documents to ensure that all information is accurate and double-check important data such as names and addresses.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and route calls to the appropriate person within the office.
  • Perform general clerical tasks, such as filing, data entry, and copying.
  • Keep their work areas clean and organized to maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Make copies of all relevant title paperwork, organize the documents, and send this packet to the customer. At times, this may require title clerks to travel outside the office to hand-deliver documents.

Qualifications:
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Automotive title experience (preferred).
  • Automotive accounting experience (preferred).
  • Understand deadlines and be able to apply the appropriate sense of urgency to all tasks.
  • Team-oriented and comfortable in an open office.
