Job Overview
Provide all aspects of IT support for Scientific Research Vessel USCGC Healy. Work both underway and on shore. Underway deployments are between 2 and 8 weeks. Onshore work includes an on-call rotation. Customer base includes research scientists, technicians, outreach personnel, and military personnel. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills and the ability to provide positive user support at a wide range of skill levels and interests.

โ€ข Information Assurance to Federal Government (DISA) standard
โ€ข Firewall, router, and switch configuration and maintenance
โ€ข Other tasking as directed.

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
โ€ข Associates Degree from an accredited Community or Technical College in Computer Science or related field, or three years System Administrator experiencewith acceptable driving record pertinent to position.
โ€ข Ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.
โ€ข U.S. Citizenship.
โ€ข Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
Preferred:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or Network Engineering, or four years System Administrator experience
โ€ข Additional experience or training in one or more leading operating systems, network equipment, and network protocols
โ€ข User support experience
โ€ข Following certifications: CCNA, CompTIA Security+, RHCSA/RHCE
Working Conditions:
โ€ข Moderate noise levels
โ€ข Occasional evening or weekend work
โ€ข On call as needed
โ€ข Must be able to work underway at sea for 35 days or more at a time
