Job Summary

B&A is seeking a SAP Manufacturing PLM Windchill Integration Lead – Functional Managing Consultant to support a federal government client operating within a classified environment. This role is responsible for leading the functional design, governance, and sustainment of the integration between SAP ERP/S4HANA and the PTC Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform across defense and energy sector manufacturing programs. The ideal candidate brings deep functional expertise in both SAP engineering and materials management processes and PTC Windchill PLM, combined with the leadership capability to manage complex integration workstreams and coordinate across engineering, manufacturing, IT, and program management stakeholders in a highly secure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the functional lead for the SAP – PTC Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) integration workstream, defining end-to-end integration architecture, data flows, and process alignment between SAP ERP/S4HANA and the Windchill PLM platform
  • Lead requirements-gathering workshops and solution design sessions with federal engineering, manufacturing, IT, and program management stakeholders to document PLM integration requirements and establish functional specifications
  • Design and govern the bidirectional data exchange between SAP and Windchill including engineering Bill of Materials (eBOM) to manufacturing Bill of Materials (mBOM) synchronization, change order management, document management, and part master data alignment
  • Manage the PLM integration workstream across the full program lifecycle – from design and build through testing, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization – while providing oversight and mentorship to junior consultants
  • Collaborate with SAP functional consultants, Windchill administrators, and technical integration teams to translate functional PLM requirements into interface specifications, data mapping rules, and middleware configurations
  • Define and execute integration testing strategies including unit testing, string testing, and end-to-end scenario validation across the SAP – Windchill integration boundary
  • Identify and resolve functional integration gaps, data governance issues, and process misalignments between SAP and Windchill during design, testing, and steady-state operations
  • Develop and maintain functional integration design documents, interface specifications, test scripts, cutover runbooks, and end-user training materials
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on SAP – PLM Windchill integration best practices, advising on system enhancements, interface governance, and release update impacts across both platforms
  • Ensure all PLM integration solutions remain compliant with federal defense engineering standards, configuration management requirements, and security protocols applicable to the classified operating environment

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in SAP configuration and implementation with demonstrated experience leading SAP – PLM integration efforts
  • Minimum of three (3) years of direct experience working with PTC Windchill PLM in a configuration, integration, or functional lead capacity
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SAP – Windchill PLM integration including eBOM/mBOM synchronization, engineering change order management, document master data exchange, and part master alignment
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

Required Skills

  • Deep functional knowledge of SAP Engineering Change Management (ECM), Classification (CA), Document Management System (DMS), and Material Master data as they relate to PLM integration
  • Hands-on experience designing and managing SAP – Windchill PLM integration including eBOM/mBOM synchronization, part and document master data exchange, and engineering change order workflows
  • Working knowledge of PTC Windchill PLM including product structure management, change and configuration management, document vaulting, and workflow administration
  • Experience leading PLM integration workstreams on complex SAP programs involving PTC Windchill or comparable PLM platforms (e.g., Teamcenter, ENOVIA)
  • Ability to bridge functional and technical teams by translating PLM business process requirements into interface specifications, data mapping documents, and middleware configuration guidance
  • Strong understanding of integration middleware technologies (e.g., SAP PI/PO, SAP Integration Suite, or equivalent) as they apply to SAP – PLM data exchange
  • Familiarity with federal defense engineering and configuration management standards including MIL-STD-31000, MIL-HDBK-61, and EIA-649 as they relate to PLM data governance
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills with the ability to convey complex PLM integration concepts to engineering, manufacturing, IT, and senior program leadership
  • Experience working within federal, defense, or classified environments with adherence to strict cybersecurity, configuration management, and operational security protocols

Desired Skills

  • PTC Windchill functional or administrator certification, or SAP PLM certification
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA Engineering Control Center (ECTR) and its integration with Windchill for embedded PLM scenarios
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and its impact on PLM data structures in defense program environments
  • Knowledge of nuclear or defense product lifecycle and configuration management requirements applicable to DOE national laboratory or weapons complex environments
  • Experience supporting Agile or SAFe delivery methodologies within federal IT programs
  • Prior experience on DOE, DOD, or other federal agency SAP – Windchill PLM integration programs
